Vernon County Unit On Aging

The Vernon County Unit on Aging provides the Senior Nutrition Program to persons age sixty and older and spouses of an active senior dining participant regardless of age. Four days a week participants can gather at the Milk Jug Cafe in Ontario at 11:30AM for a nutritious meal that has been approved by a registered dietitian to meet 1/3 of the recommended daily dietary needs. The mealsites provide “more than just a meal” in that they are community centers for diners to gather in a warm, family-like atmosphere to gain news, socialization and friendship. Donations are accepted to assist in funding this program. The suggested donation is $3.50 per meal. No one over 60 will be denied a meal regardless of ability to pay.  Call 337-4393 to volunteer to help.
